Athena Zhang, an already a very accomplished musician, just completed her freshman year at Eastman School of Music, double majoring in Composition and Organ Performance with Prof. David Higgs. Athena will serve as St. Andrew's organist and will coordinate the performances of each Sunday's guest musician.

In 2024, she received 2nd Place at East Carolina Music & Art Education Fund Organ Competition, and 3rd Place at L. Cameron Johnson Memorial Organ Competition. She also had the opportunity to perform with Maestro Benjamin Zander's Boston Philharmonic Youth Orchestra on Boston Symphony Hall’s organ. Athena is a recipient of the Boston Young Organist Initiative (YOI) Scholarship in 2024-2025.

A 2025 graduate of Phillips Academy, Andover, Athena’s previous organ teachers include Abbey Siegfried, Mrs. Jennifer Mulhern, and Mr. Andrew Scanlon.  As a composer, Athena received the ASCAP Morton Gould Award at the age of 12. She also was a winner of Australia Fanfare Composition Competition in 2022 and was awarded honorable mention for Luna Composition Lab in 2023.
